The Rev. Leslie A. Stewart  (Vicar)

"Mother Special Ops" or "Pulpit Pilot"

Before answering a call to ministry, Mother Leslie flew jets! In fact, she had a long and distinguished military career. She began as an enlisted member in Air Force Special Operations where she met her husband, Mike. She was selected for a commissioning program and graduated with honors from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 1 999, earning a Bachelor's of Science in Human Factors Engineering and was commissioned as an officer.

As an Aerospace Physiologist, she completed Physiology Officer Flight Training and trained pilots and aircrew at the Euro-Nato Joint Jet Pilot Training at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, TX. When her son Ryan was born, she transferred to an F-1 6 unit at the Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth until responding to the call to serve God in his church. You might have seen Mother Leslie's story about being called from the pilot seat to the pulpit in Christianity Today.

She graduated with honors from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University, with a Masters of Divinity and certificates in Pastoral Care and Anglican Studies. She was ordained in 2014 and accepted a call as a church planter in June 2016.

The Rev. Jennifer Smith  (Deacon)

"The Outreach Doctor"

Deacon Jennifer graduated from medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 1998, and she currently works as a pediatric radiologist at Medical City Hospital in Dallas. After hearing a call to ordained ministry, she spent the last four years in theology classes at the Stanton Center for Ministry, preparing for ministry as a deacon in the Episcopal Church. During this time, Jennifer also served in pastoral care ministry, including work as a chaplain in a local hospital.

Her husband, Matthew, is a talented musician, and is often volunteering in some part of Resurrection's music ministry. During the week, however, Matthew is a physician, working predominantly as a hospital administrator for Baylor Scott & White Health. They have two children, Judson and Camilla, who frequently serve in worship too!
