Senior Warden Meg has been a member from the very beginning when we were meeting at a member’s home for Bible study. She has been a member of Vestry for all 4 years and became Sr. Warden in 2020. Besides Vestry, she is also head of the Altar Guild, serves as a chalice bearer, a reader, and co-leader of a Lighthouse group and the Women’s group. Because she was a member of the set-up team, she is also back up for many different roles. She enjoys seeing all of the kiddos, Resurrection’s modern Bible Study classes and community service projects, and Mtr. Leslie’s enthusiasm, creativity, and leadership! In her spare time, she enjoys walking her furry son Henry, walking with RWB, volunteering at the various Resurrection community service projects, playing golf, creating in her yard, traveling, sewing, and reading. To fund her habits, she works at Frito-Lay. She’s a Wyoming University grad and because she grew up in Omaha is also a big Nebraska fan.
Junior Warden Hope and her husband David joined Resurrection in December of 2017. She currently serves as Jr. Warden and Service Coordinator and has been a member of Vestry since 2018. Originally from the New Orleans area, Hope moved to Texas in 1995 and currently resides in Plano. She is a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University with a BS In Accounting and is a licensed CPA. She retired from PepsiCo/Frito-Lay after 25 years and now works in management consulting and residential real estate. In her spare time, Hope enjoys cooking, traveling internationally, and listening to live music and dancing. She also enjoys volunteering to help with monitoring of endangered species in South Africa with Wildlife ACT and supporting the SPCA of Texas. Hope and David love to participate in the many social and community service ministries at Resurrection, and have made many lasting friendships since joining.
David joined Resurrection in 2017. In addition to serving on Vestry since 2018, he is involved with choir, Men’s Group, a reader, bible study, Warrior Church, and volunteers at many of the Resurrection community service projects. David is also is a member of the Diocesan Commission on Ministry since 2018. David grew up in St. Louis, and moved around the country for his different careers. They include, owning his own pharmacy for several years, a long stint in the pharmaceutical industry, and now as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), working with couples and men. Along with Mtr. Leslie, he led a one-day couple’s seminar, and an 8-week couple’s book study. When David daydreams it is usually about the three granddaughters he and his wife Jean are blessed with, or woodworking with hand tools. He says the granddaughters bring him joy, and the woodworking brings humility.
Besides being a Vestry Member, Janice is also our Children’s Minister, co-leader of a Lighthouse group, a reader, and when we meet in person is our friendly greeter with a big smile. She also assists with prayer ministry through our Daughters of the King chapter. In her spare time, she and her husband Brent enjoy their grandchildren, playing with their pet cats and snake, and spending time with nature at their family ranch. She feels very blessed for the opportunity to serve our community, learning from Mother Leslie’s sermons, Bible Study groups, her peers, and teaching the children as we spread God’s love.
Patrick joined the vestry in 2020. Before going virtual he served on the logistics crew and now co-leads a virtual Lighthouse group. It was through Warrior Church that Patrick heard about Resurrection Plano. He was attending a Warrior Church through another Church plant in Austin. After relocating to Plano he was excited to learn that the same ministry was being offered here. In his free time he enjoys hiking with his dog, exploring new restaurants, and reading.
"My family and I are founding members of Resurrection Episcopal Church. It has been quite an exciting journey as we explore God in our relationships with a new church family. Being a part of a church plant has allowed me to serve in ways I never have before - Vestry member, Treasurer, logistics, usher and reader. We wait patiently to see what God has in store for us as we strive toward our goal of growing the church and our presence in the community."
